Taman Simalem ( Tanah Karo )

Simalem is one of the best resort in Sumatera Utara that provides you an amazing, beautiful, stunning scenery of Lake Toba. Do you know that Lake Toba is the second largest lake in the world? We, as Indonesia should be proud that we have a lot of beautiful view and natural resources. Simalem is located about 1200 meters above sea level where you can feel the fresh and crisp of the air.

You can reach Simalem through Kabanjahe or Sidikalang. If it is from Kabanjahe, it takes about 1 hour. When you arrived at the main gate, you will be stopped by the security guard to buy the entrance ticket. It costs 250000 rupiahs for mini bus. You also will get 50000 rupiahs in coupon that can be used in Simalem only.
First, I stopped at the outbound place. The outbound here divided by several circuit. For example,if you choose red circuit then you will have flying fox, crossing river, the bridge and others.  The red circuit is 80000 rupiahs, you also can use the coupon here.

Playing at River?

The river's water was so cold, It will be always cold like that, because Simalem located at plateau which has temperature between 21 - 26 degree celcius. There is a small zoo (birds only) and villa nearby the outbound place.

There was a place named One Tree Hill. It named "One Tree Hill" because there is only one tree standing there and no other thing in there.

Kimchi Table ( Review )

Annyeonghaseyo! Today I'll share about Kimchi Table. It is located at Komplek Multatuli block E53&54, Medan.

I went there when it was sunday night and it was very crowded at  that time. I barely had table there. As you know that Medanese tends to follow one to another especially food, we ( including me ) like to eat in a restaurant that full of people, the more it's crowded the more delicious the food is, we think.
So, I got the VIP room because no more table. I don't know whether it was a good idea or not because subsequently something  happened.
As soon as we sat at the table, the waiter served the side dish, sauces and provided cutlery. I ordered Samgyeobsal (plain pork), Doijigogi Gui (pork that marinated with spicy sauce), Jap Chae Beef, and Budae Jjigae.

How to cook Samgyeobsal

Taa-daaa!
Looks like babi goreng (fried pork) right? But it tastes like BPK (Babi Panggang Karo). So, the "something happen" is like this. When you grill something, it will automatically produce the smoke, won't it? Then it also happened when I grilled the Samgyeobsal. Just in several seconds the room full of the smoke. In that VIP room there is any cooker hood, but a very small ventilation on the upper wall, I even not sure whether it was a ventilation or not. Even after we waited for several minutes, the smoke can't fade away. Then we decided to move to another table, of course not a VIP room again.

Using emergency stove
Another event happened again after we moved table. The stove suddenly can't work. The remaining Samgyeobsal that hasn't been grilled must use the emergency stove. The meals was actually good, but the facilities still need a lot of process. How can they let us to grill pork in a enclosed room with no cooker hood or ventilation?

So, that's it my review about Kimchi Table. See you at my next post!
